Carmen Negron is a Senior Construction Project Manager at the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), where she oversee[s] complex transportation infrastructure projects across District 6 – Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. With over 20 years of experience in highway and bridge construction, Carmen plays a key role in delivering high-impact capital improvement projects that enhance safety, mobility, and resilience in Florida’s transportation network.
In her current role, Carmen leads multidisciplinary teams through all phases of construction, including contract administration, scheduling, field inspections, and stakeholder coordination. She is known for a results-driven approach, deep technical expertise, and strong collaboration with contractors, engineers, and local agencies.
Carmen currently manages 14 active construction contracts, overseeing a diverse portfolio of transportation projects across the region. Her noteworthy work includes Okeechobee 2, a major infrastructure project with a budget exceeding $100 million, scheduled for completion in Fall 2025. She has also led multiple initiatives along U.S. 1 in high-profile neighborhoods, managed the Keys Coast pilot project, and contributed to several cutting-edge Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) deployments focused on enhancing traffic efficiency and roadway safety.
Carmen holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Puerto Rico and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida.
